Along the Kamay Botany Bay National Park shore where the Meeting Place monuments stand, a contemplative beach more visited for meaning than for swimming. Good to know: walk the Burrawang track while you are there, the whole shoreline speaks.
Kamay Botany Bay National Park runs the foreshore here, with the Kurnell visitor centre, picnic areas and parking close to the sand. Next door at Bonna Point Reserve there are toilets, bubblers, picnic space and a playground with the tallest slide in the Shire, and a little further along Silver Beach has an off leash section between the third and fourth groynes and the Cook at Kurnell caravan cafe. Bonna Point itself is protected shorebird habitat, so dogs stay away from the point, and across the water Towra Point Nature Reserve shelters 34 migratory bird species, pied oystercatchers among them. From May to October, Cape Solander on the ocean side of the park is the place for humpbacks.
