A rock pool at the north end of Malabar Beach, tucked into the calm corner of Long Bay below the golf course. Bathers were using a pool of boulders here by the 1890s and it was free to the public by 1909. In 1957 sewage from the Malabar outfall fouled the bay, the beach was declared off limits and the pool was abandoned. The deep ocean outfall of 1990 cleaned the water, and in 1997 the pool was deepened, rebuilt and reopened. Good to know: free, sheltered from surf, ramp access to the deck, cleaned on Thursdays.
