Set into the rocks beside the Esplanade walkway on the Cronulla peninsula, Oak Park Ocean Pool comes with its own small crescent of sand, so you can wade in rather than dive. Oak Park sits at its back, wide and green, and Oak Park Pavilion carries toilets, change rooms and showers.
Lifeguards do not patrol here, so pick a gentle sea and keep an eye on the wall when a swell is running.
Good to know: palms and lawn behind the pool make this the shadiest stop on the esplanade walk.
