Editorial standards
Good news, honestly told. These are the standards every story is held to.
What we publish
Earth to Sea News publishes good news about the natural world: recovering wildlife, healing oceans and landscapes, genuine innovation, and people doing quietly wonderful things for the planet. We look for stories from every part of the world, and we tell them plainly and warmly.
Independence
We are proudly independent and take no political sides. We do not publish commentary on divisive issues. Our test for every story is simple: is it true, is it kind, and does it leave the reader with honest hope.
We choose our sponsors carefully, and we do not accept money from businesses whose model depends on environmental claims that cannot be verified. Sponsorship supports the publication as a whole, and our stories are chosen and written independently, on their merits alone.
Sourcing and accuracy
Every story is based on credible original reporting or primary sources, always credited and linked so you can read further. We verify the facts, figures and names before publication, and we keep the names and titles of the people doing the work in the story, because credit belongs to them. Where we report from the field ourselves, we check the story with the people involved before it is published.
Photography
Wherever possible our photography is original or gifted to us with permission, and photographers are always credited. When we use library images, they are chosen honestly to represent the story.
When we get it wrong
We correct errors promptly and plainly. How to reach us, and what happens next, is on our corrections and complaints page.
