Sharing links to our stories is warmly encouraged. Republishing our stories or images elsewhere needs our written permission first, and gifted photographs remain the property of their photographers.

Our stories are checked with care and published in good faith for your interest and enjoyment. They are general reading, not professional advice. Where our stories link to other websites, those sites are their own responsibility, and a link is not an endorsement.
What you send us
Readers send us story tips, photographs and notes about what is happening near them. We love it, and here is how it works.
When you send us something, you are telling us it is yours to send, and you are giving us permission to publish it on this site, in the newsletter and on our social accounts. You keep ownership of your work, and we credit you by name unless you would rather we did not.
We read everything that comes in, and we choose what belongs in an edition. Sending something to us is an offer rather than a booking, and we may edit for length or clarity before it runs.
Contributions are given freely unless we have agreed something different in writing beforehand.
If you would like us to stop using something you have sent, write to earthtoseanews@gmail.com and we will take it down.
